Aptly named our Verde River project, this desert contemporary kitchen is a unique blend of rustic charm and modern functionality, showcasing our team’s ability to capture our clients’ vision and bring it to life. The project, a Casita kitchen addition, was completed just a few months after we had finished renovating their kitchen.

The Desert Contemporary style takes its inspiration from the natural beauty and unique elements of the desert environment, marrying them to the sleek and clean lines indicative of contemporary design. This style is characterized by its use of rugged, rustic textures, warm earth tones, and materials that echo the desert milieu, such as stone and hardwood. You can expect to see ample use of neutral colors, which draw inspiration from the desert sands, punctuated with vibrant pops of color reminiscent of desert blooms.

The Verde River project, showcases the elements that makeup the Desert Contemporary décor style; the shaker door, with a rustic folkstone finish, is an example of it — with its sleek profile and clean lines — while the rustic finish imbues the space with a warm, inviting charm. The European frameless cabinet design, with minimized gaps between doors, injects a modern, streamlined feel to the kitchen, while the rustic stain from the Windswept series by Bellmont Cabinetry, resonates with the earthy tones inherent to the desert aesthetic. This seamless blend of warmth and modernity, rusticity and sleekness, makes the Verde River kitchen a prime example of Desert Contemporary.

Cabinets

The countertops, constructed from Arista Quartz and Natural Stone, add a touch of elegance to the space. The kitchen island, a standout feature, offers inset overhanging granite countertops for bar stool seating, creating an ideal gathering spot during meal preparations. Cabinets on both sides of the island ensure easy and functional access, enhancing the space’s practicality.

The choice of lighting and backsplash further accentuates the kitchen’s desert contemporary theme. The Cobbleskill Mini Pendant lights cast a warm, inviting glow over the space. Meanwhile, the stone backsplash seamlessly integrates the rustic and contemporary elements of the design.

One striking design feature is the contrast between the rustic brown cabinets and the two white cabinets above the cooking area. The exposed ductwork, stained in the same rustic brown color, adds an industrial touch.

The kitchen’s practical layout makes it easy to navigate and offers abundant storage, while the cozy ambiance encourages friends and family to gather and create wonderful memories. In the end, this $75,000 project resulted in a kitchen that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional, a true testament to our commitment to delivering designs that perfectly cater to the needs and tastes of our clients.
