Transitional Kitchen in North Scottsdale, AZ by Hunt’s Kitchen & Design

A Unique Transitional Kitchen in Scottsdale Mountain

This Scottsdale Mountain kitchen truly breaks the mold when it comes to traditional Transitional style.

Typically, you might expect to see white Shaker cabinets lining the walls with a contrasting darker island at the center. In a clever reversal, this design features rich, dark-stained cabinets on the walls which beautifully set off the elegant marble backsplash.

The island, on the other hand, is dressed in clean white Shaker cabinetry topped with an eye-catching backlit Onyx countertop, bringing a unique and dramatic focal point to the space.

Walking through the kitchen, you can’t help but notice the stunning Linear Firefly Chandelier elegantly suspended above the oversized island—its delicate, twinkling lights adding both charm and grandeur. The Onyx countertop, with its subtle glow, accents the centerpiece, which creates a warm and inviting ambiance.

Natural light plays a pivotal role in this design.

A large window directly above the sink, paired with a sliding glass door just feet away, floods the room with sunlight. The light reflects off the marble backsplash, which extends from the counter to the ceiling, amplifying the room’s airy and open feel. This combination of elements—natural light, dark cabinetry, and bright finishes—creates a chic-like atmosphere. The soffits descending from the ceiling add to this effect, forming a dramatic oval shape that contributes to the kitchen’s modern elegance.
